The road to Arra e Gurrës remains blocked/ Kozeli: Rainfall and erosion

The road in the Arra e Gurrës area, in Librazhd, did not open this Monday as announced.

The Albanian Road Authority announced that the segment has suffered damage and subsidence, while the provisional road has also been affected by landslides. As a result, the axis remains impassable.

The situation has also created problems in the energy network. The OST announced that a 110 kV line pole is at risk and for this reason it will intervene to dismantle it. During the works, there will be power outages in several areas of Librazhd.

From the field, the director of the ARRSH, Ami Kozeli, said that the heavy rainfall and river erosion have contributed to the destabilization of the area.

"Critical situation, what we hoped was a 6-meter landslide plan did not turn out to be the case, the landslides are active. The measures taken with the Bypass and secondary ring roads did not prove effective and the axis will continue to remain blocked. An alternative route is being discussed, one of the possibilities is Spathari as an alternative route to Dragostunja", said Kozeli.

Work to stabilize the terrain continues, while the opening of the road will depend on the progress of the interventions and weather conditions./ CNA
