Arrested by AMP for bribery/ GJKKO declares former police officer guilty

The Criminal Court of Kosovo has found guilty former police officer Gentjan Hoxhalli, who was arrested by the AMP for bribery.

Announcement of the GJKKO

The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has submitted to the Court the request with the subject matter: "Trial of the criminal case against the defendant Gentjan Hoxhalli, accused of committing the criminal offense "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", provided for by Article 259, paragraph two of the Criminal Code".

2. The trial of this case was conducted under the rules of summary trial. At the end of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, with a panel composed of judges Irena Gjoka, Engjëllushe Tahiri and Besmir Stroka, with decision no. 18, dated 23.02.2026, decided:

1. The guilty plea of ??the defendant Gentjan Hoxhalli for committing the criminal offense of "Passive corruption of persons exercising public functions", provided for by Article 259 of the Criminal Code and his sentence to 3 (three) years of imprisonment.

2. In application of Article 406 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, reduction of 1/3 of the sentence and his final sentence of 2 (two) years of imprisonment.

3. In application of Article 59 of the Criminal Code, the suspension of the execution of the prison sentence for the defendant Gentjan Hoxhalli and placing him on probation for a period of 4 (four) years, provided that during the probation period he maintains regular contact with the Probation Service and does not commit another criminal offense.

4. In application of Article 35, paragraph 2, of the Criminal Code, the right of the defendant Gentjan Hoxhalli to exercise public functions is revoked for a period of 5 (five) years.

5. Based on Article 261/1 letter “b” in conjunction with Article 389 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the termination of the security measure “Arrest in prison”, imposed on the defendant Gentjan Hoxhalli by decision No. 116 dated 08.11.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime.

6. His immediate release is ordered if he is not detained, arrested or convicted of another criminal offense.

7. Regarding the material evidence, the court, based on Article 190 of the Criminal Procedure Code, disposes as follows: - Iloji's mobile phone "IPHONE", model "13 Pro Max" in gray, with IMEI no.: **** and IMEI 2: ****, with a "Vodafone" company phone card with phone no. ****. - 1 (one) mobile phone of the brand "IPHONE", model "Xs Max", with IMEI no.: **** and IMEI 2: ****, with a "Vodafone" company phone card, with phone no. ****. - Vehicle of the brand "Audi", model "A6", with license plate **** (foreign license plate), with chassis number ****, in dark gray, together with the key, to be returned to the defendant Gentjan Hoxhalli.

8. The procedural costs incurred during the investigation phase (according to the relevant form), as well as the court costs according to the relevant form, are charged to the defendant Gentjan Hoxhalli. 9. An appeal against this decision is allowed within 15 (fifteen) days, at the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, starting this deadline from the day after the notification of this decision./ CNA
