Robinson-Dumani/USA meeting confirms support for SPAK

The head of the Special Prosecution, Altin Dumani, today 19.03.2024, at the premises of SPAK, received Mr. Todd D. Robinson, Assistant Secretary of the Department of the United States of America, International Office of Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs. The meeting was also attended by Ms. Aida Hajnaj, Director of the National Bureau of Investigation, Mr. John C. Kastning, Director of the International Bureau of Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, as well as representatives from the Department of Justice of the United States of America ( OPDAT).

During the meeting, Dumani made a presentation of the activity of the Special Prosecutor's Office, and the indicators of this institution on the investigation of organized crime and corruption, while Mrs. Hajnaj focused on the functioning of the National Bureau of Investigation, and the process of re-evaluation of the investigators of this structure.

Among other things, Dumani thanked Mr. Robinson for the continuous help and support that the United States of America has provided SPAK, starting from the establishment of this Structure and continuing in the process of its consolidation and specialization. Mr. Dumani underlined the important and essential role that the experts of the assistance missions and the representatives of the law enforcement agencies of the United States of America have played not only in the development of SPAK, but also in the assistance given in the international cooperation with the partner law enforcement agencies.

On the other hand, Mr. Todd D. Robinson, evaluated the progress of the work and the achievements of the Special Prosecutor's Office, emphasizing that the Government of the United States of America reaffirms that the support to SPAK will continue at the same pace, in order to achieve the objectives of this Structure, related to the fight against corruption and organized crime, with the aim of consolidating the rule of law and putting an end to the culture of impunity./ CNA
