GJKKO has postponed the hearing for former Prime Minister Sali Berisha. The reason for the postponement was the lack of participation of the prosecutors.

Today it was planned to consider the request for participation in the plenary sessions.

The next session will be held on March 25.

Berisha's lawyer, Genc Gjokutaj, raised accusations against the prosecutors, as he said that they were absent for professional reasons, since they had not received objectives from Prime Minister Edi Rama.

"For professional reasons, they could not be present. There is a reason, there are two prosecutors, at least one should have been present. The profession of the prosecutor is in investigation and trial. Of course, with Mr. Rama's commitment to other work, the contact seems to be disconnected. Another date was set, the next session will be held on March 25 at 09:00, Gjokutaj emphasized.

We remind you that since December 30, the chairman of the DP is under house arrest.

The Special Prosecutor's Office accuses the former prime minister of "Passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials", carried out in cooperation with his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezin.

SPAK claims that Berisha, in his capacity as Prime Minister, has favored the privatization procedures of the former "Partizani" complex and the direct beneficiary has been Malltezi.

Malltezi is accused of "Passive corruption of high state officials or local elected officials", carried out in cooperation with Berisha./ CNA
