Meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers / Hasani: Albania with a primary role in peace

The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, was present at the meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers in Brussels.

Minister Hasani said that Albania will continue to play a primary role in peace and security among all the neighboring countries of the region, while he appreciated the cooperation between KFOR, EULEX and the Kosovo police.

In the special session of the Ministerial, focusing on the Western Balkans, in the presence of the High Representative for EU Foreign Policy, Joseph Borrel, the Minister underlined that the Alliance must react unanimously, sending a clear message to any escalation of possible.

Minister Hasani appreciated the acceptance of the EU proposal by the Kosovo authorities on the creation of the Association of Serbian Municipalities and urged the parties to engage in constructive dialogue, as the only guarantee for a long-term and stable peace.

During the NATO Ministerial, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs underlined the importance of a strong alliance, as a cornerstone of our common security and an anchor of stability.

During his stay in Brussels, Minister Hasani held bilateral meetings with counterparts from member countries such as Turkey, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and Denmark.

Immediately after the end of the NATO ministerial, Minister Hasani will travel to Skopje to participate in the OSCE Foreign Ministers' Ministerial, on November 30 - December 1, 2023./ CNA
