Starting from next year, no traffic policeman will stay on the road axes which will be monitored with cameras.

With the completion and commissioning of the Traffic Monitoring Center, the main road axes in Albania will be monitored in real time for any accident, weather conditions, but also the speed of movement of each vehicle and other irregularities.

This is what the director of the Albanian Road Authority, Evis Berberi, stated for the SCAN television, as he clarified which will be the first axes that will be put under this surveillance.

"There are a total of the first 200 kilometers that will be monitored: Tirana-Elbasan, Tirana-Durrës, Rinas-Vorë, Durrës-Fier and Elbasan-Rrogozhinë. So it becomes a ring, Tirana-Elbasan-Durrës. Every year we will increase the kilometers monitored by the Albanian Road Authority", said Dredha.

But how will the Traffic Monitoring Center work?

"We will have radars. We will get the cops off the street. There will be no more traffic policemen who will appear on these roads. We will have security cameras for law enforcement, emergency phones, timers, weather radar, scales. All these will be monitored in one building. For an accident that occurs on an axis, all the institutions involved will be informed in record time,"  Barberi told SCAN.

This means that each car will be identified according to the license plate and the speed will be calculated based on the time of the description of the road axis. And the fine will automatically go to those who break the speed limits. While through license plates, vehicles will also be checked for insurance, inspection and other irregularities./ CNA
