The second day of the hearing for the review of the appeal against Erion Veliaj's security measure will be held today at the GJKKO Appeal. The hearing will be held at 12:30.
After yesterday's marathon session, which lasted 7 hours, the hearing was adjourned for today after SPAK prosecutors Altin Dumani and Ols Dado presented new evidence. Judge Engert Pëllumbi gave the prosecution time to familiarize themselves with the new evidence.
The lawyer for the mayor arrested for corruption and money laundering offered a financial guarantee in exchange for a change in the security measure at yesterday's hearing. The lawyer for businessman Elman Abule also offered a financial guarantee.
The other three businessmen, accused of corruption against officials, Meriman Palushi, Gentjan Sula and Shkëlqim Fusha, have also appealed the security measure.
We recall that Mayor Erion Veliaj was arrested on February 10 on charges of corruption and money laundering.
