Appeal to the Supreme Court/ Hearing for Salianji continues for more than three

For more than three hours, the Supreme Court has been holding a hearing on the appeal filed by former MP Ervin Salianji regarding the security measure.

Earlier, on October 15, the Supreme Court rejected Salijanj's request to suspend the 1-year prison sentence from the Court of Appeal.

The appeal on September 26th upheld the decision of the Court of Fact, regarding the case called "Babale", where MP Ervin Salianji was convicted.

The "Babale" case began in the spring of 2018, when Ervin Salianji published an audio recording, in which he claimed that Agron Xhafaj, brother of the then Minister of Interior, Fatmir Xhafaj, was involved in drug trafficking.

According to the audio recording, which in fact turned out to be a staged material, Fatmir Xhafaj's brother, Agron Xhafaj, was accused of being caught in a wiretap with a former drug dealer, Albert Veliu (Babalja)./ CNA
