"Babale" case/ The Supreme Court examines Salianji's appeal

Today, at 10:00 AM, the Supreme Court will review the appeal of former MP Ervin Salianji for the security measure.

Earlier, on October 15, the Supreme Court rejected Salijanj's request for the suspension of the 1-year prison sentence by the Court of Appeal.

The appeal on September 26th upheld the decision of the Court of Fact, regarding the case called "Babale", where MP Ervin Salianji was convicted.

We recall that the "Babale" case began in the spring of 2018, when Ervin Salianji published an audio recording, where according to him Agron Xhafaj, brother of the then Minister of Interior, Fatmir Xhafaj, was involved in drug trafficking.

According to the audio intercept, which in fact turned out to be a staged material, Fatmir Xhafaj's brother, Agron Xhafaj, was accused of being caught in wiretaps with a former drug trafficker, Albert Veliu (Babalja)./ CNA
