Expropriations/ IKMT resumes demolitions in Shkodra

In Shkodra, the demolition campaign to free up space for the city entrance project has resumed. The Director of IKMT for the Shkodra region, Emiljano Nika, says that after the expropriations, there are now 10 buildings that will be demolished along the entire line of the city entrance construction site.

 

Nika said that an understanding has been reached with the owners of these facilities. Meanwhile, Director Nika stated that the action to free Lake Shkodra continues.

" All expropriation procedures have been completed and today we are restarting the work on the demolition of all objects that are an obstacle to the redevelopment of the entrance to the city and the western shore of Lake Shkodra. There are 10 expropriated entities for which the demolition will continue. Meanwhile, in parallel, the cleaning of the lake shore and the Buna River bank is continuing, so we are working on 2 fronts simultaneously, a job that will last for several days.

The owners were notified earlier and we found their understanding. As you can see, the work has been going on for a few days and some of them have voluntarily removed the materials. Everything is coming without any hesitation and the work continues normally. The project is approved and the demolition will take place without any exceptions , "said the director of IKMT Shkodër, Emiljano Nika.
