The appeal of the GJKKO has postponed the hearing for the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

The next hearing will be held tomorrow at 12:30. It is learned that the court hearing has been postponed because prosecutors Altin Dumani and Ols Dado have presented new facts and evidence against Mayor Erion Veliaj.

For this reason, Judge Engert Pëllumbi has postponed the hearing to give the accused's lawyers time to review the new evidence.

Erion Veliaj has been in prison since February 10. He is charged with two serious criminal offenses, corruption and laundering of proceeds of crime.

A file of about 400 pages contains facts and evidence of all the abuses committed by Mayor Erion Veliaj and his wife Ajola Xoxa, who is under the security measure "obligation to appear"./ CNA
