Scandal with the Sadushi/Këlliçi decision: The last communist in the

DP MP Belind Këlliçi has reacted after the embarrassment of the Supreme Court, which has issued an interim decision to initiate the procedure for the partial amendment of the unified practice of the Joint Colleges of the Supreme Court of 2011 on personal security measures, which according to him raises doubts about the real intentions.

According to Këlliç, an attempt is being made to open a debate about weakening one of the most important instruments against abuse of power and destruction of evidence.

Referring to the decision made by Sadushi, Këlliçi also emphasizes the latter's close ties to Erion Veliaj, widely considering him as one of the last communists in the justice system.

"The latest initiative of the President of the Supreme Court, Sokol Sadushi, to change the practice on personal security measures by relaxing the standards of detention, raises clear doubts about its timing and real purpose!

Instead of justice strengthening the fight against corruption, which is the biggest gangrene of our country, an attempt is currently being made to open a debate about weakening one of the most important instruments against abuse of power and destruction of evidence.

Even more problematic is the fact that this initiative comes precisely from a figure who has long been talked about in public opinion as having political closeness to Erion Veliaj, and the person in question is widely considered one of the last communists in the justice system.

When justice and politics appear so close to each other, every such decision only strengthens the suspicion and conviction that the system is being changed to serve power and corruption and not the citizens.

"Justice should be above politics, not at its service," Këlliçi underlines./ CNA
