The police have helped 5 tourists from the United Kingdom, who were stranded in the place called "Pigeon Cave", due to the difficult mountainous terrain and darkness.

The tourists are in good health. 

Police notification: 

After several hours of search and rescue operation, the Police help 5 tourists from the United Kingdom, who were trapped in the place called "Pigeon Cave", due to the difficult mountainous terrain and darkness.

The search and rescue operation, during yesterday evening until after midnight, was carried out by the services of Police Station No. 1, in cooperation with the alpine group of the National Security Force, and with the Albanian Mountaineering Federation.

Yesterday evening, after the announcement that 5 tourists from the United Kingdom were stranded in the place called "Pigeon Cave", due to the difficult mountainous terrain and the lack of orientation in the dark, work was immediately organized to find them .

Services of Police Station No. 1 in cooperation with the alpine group of the National Security Force and the Albanian Mountaineering Federation, after nearly 5 hours of searching, until after midnight, have made it possible to find and rescue 5 foreign tourists, who are in good health.

The police of Tirana is maximally engaged in guaranteeing the safety of tourists and visitors in our country. It also invites them and citizens to call the toll-free number 112 in case of need for help. /CNA
