The Parliament has announced the vacancy in the Constitutional Court, created after the resignation of Judge Elsa Toska.

Applications for the vacant position are open this Tuesday. The deadline for applications is until October 28, 2024.

We recall that Elsa Toska resigned about two weeks ago, for reasons that were not disclosed.

She held this post since November 2019.

Notice of the Assembly: 

The Assembly of the Republic of Albania, after being acquainted with the decision no. 62, dated 23.09.2024, of the Constitutional Court, for the premature termination of the mandate of the judge of the Constitutional Court, Mrs. Elsa Toska, based on articles 125, 127, point 1, letter "c" and point 3, of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, as well as articles 7, point 1, 7/c and 8, point 3, of law no. 8577, dated 10.2.2000 "On the organization and functioning of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Albania", as amended.

I announce the opening of the application procedure for the vacant position, supplementary mandate, for 1 (one) member of the Constitutional Court, in order to fill the vacancy created due to the declaration of the end of the mandate of the judge Mrs. Elsa Toska, which ends on 14.11.2028, referring to Assembly Decision no. 133/2019 "On the election of Mrs. Elsa Toska, member of the Constitutional Court"./ CNA
