Tensions in the Assembly/ Rama ridicules the opposition: We plant, they destroy
Prime Minister Edi Rama

Prime Minister Edi Rama reacted to the tensions in Monday's plenary session.

Rama showed a photo of burning chairs in front of the Assembly, accusing the opponents of belonging to destructive politics.

"Coming before listening to your words, someone sent me this picture. This is a fire. A fire lit with the chairs of the deputies elected in the Parliament of Albania to sit in those chairs and to represent those who put them there, as a sign of revolt against a court decision. I brought it here because I want to say a few words about politics, which has been going through bad days in Albania and developed countries. It is a tool that it has done extremely great things in the history of mankind, but it has also done extremely great catastrophes.

Rejecting politics a priori as something bad, dirty, as something best not to be messed with is infantile. It is impossible for you to decide what politics does or does not do with you. You can only decide how much you can influence politics by dealing with it. If you turn your back on her and refuse to deal with her, she has all the power to deal with you. Everything outside the doors of the house in our human interactions is related to politics and its decisions.

The EU was created by politics, politics created all those things that today are considered the achievements of humanity, such as freedoms, human rights, institutions that support social activity. Without politics there is no state, without a state it is a jungle. As it has the power to build, it also has the power to destroy. As it has the power to heal through processes and will, politics has the diabolical power to wound, crush, maim. Between these two views, not absolute, lies the division here in us, between us, who try to build, heal, plant and those who, on the other hand, destroy, injure, uproot, burn. This being so, Albania has lost a lot of time, if the reforms that we have undertaken almost 25 years after the beginning of our freedom, had been undertaken not 25 years ago, but 10, 15 and 20 today we would be much ahead ", said Rama./ CNA
