They burned the chairs of the parliament/Assembly: The opposition MPs will pay

The opposition MPs are under investigation due to the violence perpetrated the day before in the parliament.

They burned the chairs in front of the Assembly and for this the Assembly of Albania emphasizes that they will pay the financial damage caused, as they are a public property that is maintained by the taxes of the Albanians.

"The Assembly of Albania, as the most important constitutional institution that embodies the will of the people through its elected representatives, was attacked yesterday like never before and faced with serious acts, up to arson, punishable in terms of Albanian legislation and absolutely unacceptable in any other respect.

The actions taken by the deputies involved, through hitting other people with hard objects and burning, destroying and damaging equipment in the plenary session hall, have caused, in addition to criminal offenses, serious damage to public property.

The Assembly of Albania has set up a working group to assess the damages caused and at the end of this assessment, the MPs involved will be charged with the responsibility of full financial compensation. The chairs burned by them are not theirs, they belong to the Albanian people and were bought and maintained, like all other equipment, with the taxes of the Albanians. Full replacement of these and any other damaged equipment will be made exclusively with the proceeds to be retained from the salaries of the MPs involved.

The Assembly of Albania reminds everyone that this institution is the faith and will of the people, and the people are not a chair that burns, but the Sovereign who is served to the end by the Assembly for His faith and will", says the reaction./ CNA
