The day before, the parliamentary session was accompanied by violence and chaos due to the rise of opposition MPs against the majority.

The police have referred the materials to SPAK for the criminal offenses of destruction of property by fire as well as assault due to duty.

The Minister of the Interior, Ervin Hoxha, in his reaction emphasizes that the destruction of public property by fire, in order to threaten the deputies and incite ongoing violence, constitute not only successive criminal acts, but also a complete display of anti-democratic aggression.

Hoxha underlines that the State Police and the Guard of the Republic immediately carried out all procedural actions, analyzing the scene in detail, managing the footage and any other element of interest to the investigation.

The whole event, together with the instigators and executors of the violence, will be referred to the Special Prosecutor's Office (SPAK), due to the special qualities that the deputies carry, as a category of jurisdiction of this prosecutor's office.

"The deliberate arson yesterday afternoon, at the doors of the highest constitutional institution of the Republic of Albania, the Parliament of Albania, is not only an act punishable by the Criminal Code, but also an unjustifiable act in every aspect, which brings back to the eyes of local and international public opinion, the blackest moments in the history of parliamentarism in Europe of the past, when the most criminal anti-democratic forces set fire to the temple of democracy.
