The US Embassy and the EU Ambassador, Silvio Gonzato, condemned the violence perpetrated the day before in the Albanian Parliament by the opposition, which has started the action after the imprisonment of MP Ervin Salianji for a false report.

But in this case, my answer is this: Ervin Salianji had the civic courage, had the political responsibility to denounce with documents, with recordings of investigative journalists that the brother of Fatmir Xhafajt, convicted in Italy for international drug trafficking, as a danger to order and security of the Italian Republic, not only was he not extradited, not only was he hiding in Vlora, but he was trafficking tons of drugs under the protection of his minister brother.

I believe that the denunciation of Ervin Salianji was not only in the interest of the Albanians, but also in the interest of the citizens of the neighboring country, Italy.

The truth is that after this denunciation by Ervin Salianji, Geron Xhafa was packed up and extradited at 6:00 am that day to Italian prisons.

So, Ervin Salianji did a duty not only to the Albanians, but also to our partners and friends across the sea.

Ervin Salianji also did a duty to our partners across the ocean, those who believe that the rule of law is vital for a democracy.

To those who believe the fight against organized crime and drugs is crucial to law, order and development.
