Today, the Elbasan court released the former Minister of the Interior, Saimir Tahir, from prison.

Tahiri himself reacted to this decision a few minutes ago, declaring that he will continue to seek justice.

Through a status on social networks, he thanks everyone who believed in his innocence.

"I will continue to seek justice, as I have done until today.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart, for always believing in everything I am, I did it!

Thank you, too, for always lying, reminding me of the price of truth.

I had the opportunity to recognize the injustice in front of me. Now I have the opportunity to demand the right without saving!

Thank you very much to everyone!", he writes.

We remind you that Saimir Tahiri was released from prison one year and 8 months before the end of his sentence for "abuse of duty". 

The reason for the decision was a forensic report which stated that the former high official will take care of the two minor children, as his wife is unable to do so.

Until now, Tahiri has served the prison sentence, given in February 2022. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison, but due to the shortened trial, he should serve 3 years and 4 months in prison./ CNA.al
