Ola Xama: The Ministry of Finance made a mistake with the salary increase, it
Journalist Ola Xama

The Minister of Finance, Delina Ibrahimaj, said today that the salaries for the month of May will be taken as they were and the additional increase will be compensated at a second moment, after the decisions of the Council of Ministers are fully clarified.

But for journalist Ola Xama this is a scandal. Xama claims that the government is delaying the wage increase because it needs time to adjust the coefficients that were made wrong.

In a status on social networks, she claims that the economists of some institutions have sent letters to the Ministry of Finance and the government telling them that the new coefficients did not increase salaries for everyone and in some cases overturned the hierarchy of the administration level. According to the journalist, this is a repeated blunder of the ministry.

Full statement:

The scandal with the postponement of salary increases.

The salary increase was postponed not because "it takes time for the decisions of the Council of Ministers to be clarified", but because time is needed to adjust the coefficients that were made incorrectly.

There is no way that a decision that comes out to implement the law should be approved in principle and require time to be clarified. The principle that salaries will increase and to what extent, has been approved in the Assembly together with the law. VKM will either calculate the coefficients for salaries according to all categories and pave the way for granting the allowance, or it will not be approved at all. There is no "time to lighten up". Whitening today is print: Ctrl+P.

Yesterday and today, the economists of several institutions have sent letters to the Ministry of Finance and the government where they said that the new coefficients did not increase salaries for everyone and in some cases overturned the hierarchy of the administration level. A specialist, depending on seniority, received a salary of around 800 thousand old lek, as much as that of a director, and in some institutions the managers' salary was lower than that of specialists or heads of the sector.

The Ministry of Finance and Economy is making repeated mistakes. Even in the calculation of the budgetary effects of the increase in the salaries of MPs, it is estimated that nearly 20 million ALL (180 thousand euros) are needed, while the cost for just one month is 205 thousand euros and it is 2.4 million euros per year.

Whoever made the calculations wrong should come out, apologize and resign. There is no reason for the minister to come out, when the technical staff makes serious mistakes, while they had 6 months to prepare the acts. Lapsuse can be done by any institution, but not the Ministry of Finance. If the administration is at this level, we risk going out "with red shoes". Any deputy minister who has had the task of issuing salary acts must apologize to the Assembly for not being able to implement his will on time, to the administration and to the citizens. The Ministry should then audit all the cases that have passed through that person's hands. What happened cannot be covered with excuses and violations because it is a scandal. The State and the Ministry of Finance are not driving schools!/ CNA.al
