Yesterday, academician Artan Fuga published a public letter to Prime Minister Edi Rama, where he listed 10 arguments against the draft decision that dissolved the Academy of Albanian Studies.

But today the government approved the merger of the Academy of Albanological Studies. Fuga has made another reaction regarding this decision, with which he also gives a message to Rama.

Through a status on social networks, he declares that today the flag should be raised at half-mast, as he claims that history is being played with.

He points out that the dissolution of the ASA is a death blow to the national culture.

Fly the flag to half-mast today!

Let no one remember that I did not know that my letter would further kindle the fire of destructive passion. But praying for national culture is never a shame. It's an honor. I might as well beg for it. I know other things to do.

With patience.

As of today, Albania, after perhaps a century, will no longer have an institute for Albanology, nor an Albanological Center as a separate institution.

The gap has become a precipice.

The national culture has thus received a mortal blow.

Pallavara without connections in the service of anti-national lobbies cannot cover the tragedy that happened.

Look at the high school curricula, approved by the Ministry of Education, a dirty mistreatment of the national literary, philosophical, artistic, cultural heritage, an administrative tritol undermining of our traditions that were supposed to keep the people connected to the motherland.

It's a whole platform!

And they ask, apparently surprised: Why do Albanians leave their homeland, Serbs don't, Bosnians don't, Macedonians don't! That's why they run away. That they have dried up everything national.

It's another defeat. Much more honest than that of those who with such victories will bring shame with them.

You can play with power, but never with history.
