Ambassador Kim meets the members of the HCJ/ Message for justice

The US ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, met today with the members of the High Judicial Council.

Kim has thanked the members of the KLJ for the cooperation during 3 and a half years.

According to an announcement issued by the American embassy, ??the diplomat affirmed the strong support of the US for the HCJ and other justice institutions.

Kim called on the members of the Supreme Court to fulfill their duties with integrity and independence, while he asked the institution to fill the remaining 3 seats in the Supreme Court as soon as possible.

Ambassador Yuri Kim met with the Supreme Judicial Council today to thank them for their cooperation over the past three and a half years and to urge them to persevere. She reaffirmed strong US support for the HCJ and other justice institutions and called on the members of the HCJ to fulfill their duties with integrity and independence. She asked the HCJ to fill the remaining three positions in the Supreme Court with the most qualified judges as soon as possible. She also emphasized the US's expectation that the HCJ select judges of integrity and professional ability for the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime and the lower courts.

"It is time to break away from the old ways. The justice reform must continue to be implemented so that Albania can move forward and the officials must act with integrity despite the threats and incitements", said Ambassador Kim at the KLJ./ CNA.al
