"Road" with an iron fist for rule violators/ Thousands of fines for

Tirana Traffic Police intensifies controls, with the sole objective of meeting road safety parameters.

The special plan of measures is being monitored on the ground by the head of the Traffic Police Commissariat.

The plan consists of monitoring with intelligent devices and the increased presence of Traffic Police services, with the objective of carrying out checks for:

-motor vehicle drivers, for wearing a protective helmet;

-vehicle drivers, for:

-giving priority to pedestrians, on white lines;

-not using a mobile phone while driving;

-fastening the seat belt;

- failure to drive a vehicle under the influence of alcohol/drunk;

-respecting speed limits;

-speed moderation in residential areas;

-prevention of wrong overtaking;

-detection of incorrect parking that obstructs traffic.

During the last 72 hours:

-14 drivers have been arrested/criminally prosecuted for violating road traffic rules;

-13 vehicles have been blocked;

-around 6000 administrative measures have been imposed./ CNA
