Oil price increase/ Measures to be taken for daily market monitoring

The Minister of Economy and Innovation, Delina Ibrahimaj, the Minister of Finance, Petrit Malaj, and the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Enea Karakaçi, held a meeting today with the main hydrocarbon companies and the leaders of the Hydrocarbons Association.

The focus of discussions at the meeting was the increase in oil and gasoline prices due to the situation in the Middle East.

Minister Ibrahimaj also announced that daily market monitoring will be carried out, analyzing the relationship between stock exchange prices and prices in the domestic market, as well as increasing transparency with operators and the public.

Also, the Ministry of Finance will establish a joint task force with Taxes and Customs to monitor profit margins throughout the hydrocarbon trading chain.

We held, together with the Minister of Finance, Mr. Petrit Malaj, as well as the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Mr. Enea Karakaçi, a meeting with the main companies in the hydrocarbon sector and the leaders of the Hydrocarbons Association.

The focus of the discussion was the analysis of price performance on the Platts Mediterranean exchange, as a reference for diesel and gasoline, as well as the relationship between import prices, wholesale and retail prices in the domestic market.

We will strengthen daily market monitoring, continuously analyzing the relationship between stock exchange prices and domestic market prices, as well as increasing transparency with operators and the public.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Finance will establish a joint task force with Taxes and Customs to monitor profit margins throughout the hydrocarbon trading chain.

We will continue daily monitoring of the market and international stock exchanges, with the aim of maintaining market stability and protecting the interests of Albanian consumers. /CNA
