PS rejected SPAK's request for Balluk's immunity/Gaz Bardhi,

Gaz Bardhi has launched an attack after the SP's decision to overthrow SPAK over Belinda Balluku's immunity.

He has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama and his government of a major reversal taking place, where corruption is presented as the victim while justice is declared guilty.

Bardhi has called Rama a hostage lawyer of Balluk.

"A great reversal is taking place in Edi Rama's Albania: corruption is presented as the victim, while justice is declared guilty.

And we saw this reversal clearly in the case of Belinda Balluku, handled by her lawyer/hostage, the acting Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Instead of responding to SPAK's evidence and the abuses with 11 tenders worth 1.1 billion euros, the Prime Minister chose to attack justice and use Parliament to obstruct it.

Edi Rama's main objective was to victimize Belinda Balluku, his government, and himself, trying to discredit the prosecutor in the case and SPAK, as well as minimize the importance of the wiretapping evidence.

Isn't it ridiculous and unbelievable for a prime minister to talk about political lynching of the ruling party by the same system he boasted he had built himself to take him to his office? But Edi Rama speaks differently and acts differently.

He talks about the independence of justice, but votes against SPAK's request to allow the arrest of his closest associate.

I have seen hundreds of comments on social media, yesterday and today. I understand that many people are disappointed by Edi Rama's decision to defend Belinda Balluku and the corrupt acts of his government.

But for all the disappointed, I have a message: from today, see Edi Rama for who he really is, a political defender of corruption, who has now shed his 10-year mask of being the architect of justice reform.

Citizens have the right to know that Edi Rama's decision to become a corruption lawyer was not made yesterday. This decision has no connection to any legal fact, because the evidence is there.

This is a political decision made from the first day of the indictment. It is a predetermined decision, just like the tenders for which Belinda Balluku was taken into custody and is being investigated.

Citizens also deserve to know that, for the first time since the creation of SPAK, a request submitted by the Special Prosecution Office to investigate the abuse of public funds at the highest levels of power is being politically rejected by the parliamentary majority, not on the basis of a legal analysis, but on the basis of an open political defense by the country's Prime Minister.

We all saw that Edi Rama slandered everyone and defamed everything that leads to justice, from Belinda to himself, but in his 80-minute speech he never mentioned the real evidence of the Special Prosecution Office.

"There are thousands of messages from Belinda Balluku to her subordinates where she illegally intervenes in tenders to favor one company, or to deprive another company of its rights," Gaz Bardhi said./ CNA
