Dismissal of Berisha's request by SPAK/ Manjani: Political punishment
Ylli Manjani

The former Minister of Justice, Ylli Manjani, has reacted after the decision of the SPAK to overturn the request of the former Prime Minister Sali Berisha to exercise his duty in the Assembly.

According to Manjani, this decision is clearly a political punishment. Manjani says that Berisha is not accused of any criminal offense and there are no charges against him.

"To keep logic at work.

Sali Berisha is not accused of any criminal offense. Officially, there are no charges against Him. However, like 98% of everyone else today who are under security measures, a security measure has been applied to Him.

Legal absurdity that you can only find in Albania with post-reform justice.

On the other hand, no doubt, reasonable or not, suggests that Sali Berisha has committed a criminal offense in the exercise of his duties as a Member of Parliament and as the head of a political party. No doubt, even peripheral, suggests that if Sali Berisha regularly goes about his business, he damages evidence or destroys justice. I repeat, there is no doubt that he is not compatible with the duties he holds today.

Then why, on what law and on what logic is it forbidden to exercise the mandate of the deputy and the political duties he holds?!

The only justification that can stand is political interference in the affairs of the opponent. Forbidding at all costs the opponent to engage in politics.

Therefore, the only logic that remains is the logic of political revenge. People have the right to agree or disagree with the political punishment of Sali Berisha, but we all agree that it is political punishment.

It's just that the political punishment is not being done by political means.

The tool that is used, the SPAK, has nothing to do with the law or independent justice. For this I am sorry", said Manjani./ CNA
