The rector of the University of Tirana, Artan Hoxha, has today denied rumors about the drop of 200 places in the classification made by the two most important university quality rankings for Southern Europe.

He told the media that it is not true that the University of Tirana has fallen 200 places. 

Artan Hoxha, in a ceremony for the start of the academic year, said that we are dealing with a ranking in the process and that the final results of which will be published in 2024.

 

"There is no increase in UT fees, there is even a decrease in some fees. It is not true that the University of Tirana has fallen 200 places. This ranking is done for the first time, that the universities of Albania are included. This is one of the rankings that is under development. The results will be published in 2024. There are also some other world rankings that we officially recognize. UT has a high margin with other institutions within the country. At the world and European level, UT is not a university to embarrass Albania, but one that honors Albania. I am the most critical person within UT. We face many challenges. Universities in Albania are not the thing that flourishes more than others. They have challenges, they will face a much bigger space than the inner space. We are preparing and day by day we try to improve our activities.
