Rainfall in Korça Region/ Situation under control, interventions continue

The recent rainfall has caused a number of problems in the territory of Korça District, but local structures and civil emergency teams have continued to work during the night and this morning to normalize the situation. In the Voskopoja Administrative Unit, the arrangement and cleaning of the road leading to the cemetery has continued. Meanwhile, in Voskop, work is underway to repair the damaged embankments. In the Tudas–Lavdar–Bozdovec–Mazrekë segment, work continues to open the road.

Municipality of Kolonja

The river flow has been diverted to protect the legs of the Qinami bridge. In the Kaskollare neighborhood in the village of Starje, accumulated water has been removed, while in Prodan, works have been carried out on the riverbed. The fire service has cleaned the central water well in Ersekë. According to the NJVKSH, the water in the city is drinkable.

Work continues to close the cracks in the embankments of the Dunavec and Devoll rivers, with the support of the Ministry of Defense and private entities. Local structures are working to normalize all problems.

In Proger, work was carried out to improve the river and rehabilitate roads damaged by erosion. In Hoçisht, intervention was carried out on the Borsh River, after agricultural lands were flooded by its breach.

The verification commissions have ascertained damages in 62 families and have prepared the relevant reports. Food aid has been distributed, while monitoring of the terrain for other cases continues. Problems have been identified along the Verdova and Rëmenj rivers, as well as near the mouth of the quarries. In the Dardhas Urban Area, four road axes have been cleaned and are now passable. In the city, the cleaning of manholes and roads continues. On the Pogradec-Bucimas axis, about 50 meters of the bicycle lane has given way, while a landslide has been reported in the Stropskë 2 reservoir, which is being assessed by the emergency team. The Tushemisht hydroelectric power station is operating normally.
