Democratic Party MP Eno Bozdo has reacted to the floods in the Berat region. Bozdo wrote in a post on social media that dozens of hectares of agricultural land in Dimal and Kuçovë are currently under water.

He emphasizes that this is not only a consequence of bad weather but also because the municipalities and the government have not cleaned the drainage canals for years. Meanwhile, according to him, the money for this work has been taken and nothing has been done.

The MP writes that farmers are requesting immediate assistance to unblock canals and need financial assistance to cover their losses as a result of the flood.

Dozens of hectares of agricultural land in the Berari District, and in particular Dimal and Kuçovë, are already under water.

Farmers are suffering from flooding not only as a result of the inclement weather, but because no one, neither the municipalities nor the government, has cared to clean the drainage canals for years.

Even worse, the money is given, the work is marked as done until the next flood comes. The theft has no end! Farmers are asking for immediate help to unblock canals and drainage works.

Also, an allocation from the finance budget is needed to cover their losses as a result of the flood. Financial assistance needs to be provided within this year, in full and immediately!
