"Snowfall and drop in temperatures"/ What the weather has in store for

Weather conditions will continue to deteriorate tomorrow. According to a statement from the Institute of Geosciences, moderate to locally intense rainfall is expected tomorrow in the regions of Shkodra, Kukës, Lezha, Vlora and Gjirokastra.  

The precipitation will be accompanied by storms, while in the north, east and southeast of the country, at altitudes above 600 m above sea level, precipitation is expected to be in the form of snow.

The intensity of the rainfall could create problems such as landslides and flooding in localized urban areas. It is also reported that temperatures will also decrease.

PRECIPITATION

This afternoon and tomorrow (Friday, 27th) moderate to locally intense rainfall is expected in the regions of Shkodër, Kukës, Lezhë, Vlorë and Gjirokastër. Moderate rainfall is expected in the other regions. The rainfall will be accompanied by thunderstorms.

In the North, East and South East of the country, at altitudes above 600 m above sea level, precipitation is expected to be in the form of snow.

Storms and high rainfall intensity can create various problems, such as landslides and flooding in localized urban areas, depending on the sewage system in the regions of Shkodër, Kukës, Durrës, Vlorë and Gjirokastër.

Tomorrow, minimum and maximum air temperatures are expected to reach:

on the coast: 7 / 12 °C

in lowlands: 4 / 13 °C

in mountainous areas: -1 / 11 °C
