This Thursday marks the end of the 48-hour deadline for candidates running for the position of Director General of the State Police, who have already been ranked after the interview on March 24th.

Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari is expected to submit a name to the Council of Ministers for appointment.

A total of 14 candidates are running for the leadership of the country's highest ranking institution.

The candidates' files were evaluated by the Commission at the Ministry of Interior, which was composed of Deputy Minister of Interior Silva Caka, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Interior, Kledia Ngjela, and the head of the AMP, Eduart Merkaj.

The candidates running are: Afrim Tafa, Alfred Çepe, Arjanit Arap, Elidon Çela, Gentian Berberi, Gentjan Shehaj, Idajet Faskaj, Lorenc Panganika, Neritan Nallbati, Pëllumb Seferi, Rebani Jaupi, Saimir Boshnjaku, Skënder Hita and Tonin Vocaj.
