Albania's decline in media freedom/ Rama: Read professional and objective

Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to the Reporters Without Borders report on our country's decline in the ranking regarding media freedom.

Rama emphasizes that he did not claim that critics measure institutional communication themselves, but suggests that they rely on professional and objective reports from institutions that analyze this field.

According to him, these reports highlight significant contradictions between critics' assessments and specialized analyses.

“I never said that you measure government communication, but now that you mention it, I'm just thinking: isn't it perhaps a good idea for you to read the reports of those who actually do this, and do it professionally and objectively?

It can help you, because important contradictions emerge between your and their assessments when it comes to the relationship between the government, the media and the public in a free country like Albania, where, contrary to what you once claimed, even more than once, the Media and Information Agency seems to have been a very good idea in the service of freedom of information.
