Democratic MP Belind Këlliçi said today after leaving the Tirana Court premises that publisher Carlo Bollino, with whom he is on trial for defamation, is avoiding hearings and confronting him.

In his speech to journalists, Këlliçi stated that from the beginning, Bollino addressed the lawsuit in a wrong way, as a way to create a false impression regarding the judicial process through his published writings.

"Don't worry, we will bring you the evidence personally and we will follow up. I understand that in the case of Erion Veliaj, that I am with him in other cases, he cannot come to court because he is in prison. In the case of Mirel Mërtiri or Klodian Zoto, the incinerators who have sued me for defamation, they cannot come because they are on the run. In the case of Carlo Bollino, I cannot understand why he is avoiding confrontation in the courtroom, when he himself has accused me of avoiding the hearings and confrontation with him. The lawsuit was addressed from the beginning in the wrong way, as if to make articles that I was avoiding a lawsuit filed by Bollino for defamation, when at the first moment when I was informed of this fact, I appeared from the next hearing and onwards, to respect the court and myself", said Këlliçi. /CNA
