Constitutional Court reviews DP's lawsuit for investigative commissions/

A hearing is being held at the Constitutional Court to review the opposition's appeal regarding the failure to establish investigative commissions for the May 11 elections and the "McGonigal" case.

Lawyer Marash Logu presented the opposition's claims regarding the "McGonigal" case.

Logu said that the majority's claim that the scope of the investigation in this case was incomplete is an untrue claim, as the lawsuit was not related to the scope of the investigation.

Further, referring to the majority's claims that the request is based solely on political claims, Logu said that the DP's request is based on documents of Albanian and American justice, as well as the International Court of Arbitration.

The opposition representative said that the lawsuit did not seek proof of legality for American citizens, but for Albanian citizens.

 

" On the "McGonigal" case, the majority representative cited that we agreed that the object was a fake. This claim is untrue, as it had nothing to do with the object of the investigation."

The obligation to formulate an alternative assessment is not the obligation of the applicants, but of those who raise the claim, that is, of the parliamentary majority. There has been no single attempt to offer an alternative to the assessment.

According to the majority representative, the request is based solely on political allegations. In fact, it is completely untrue and easily verifiable, as the request is based on documents of Albanian, American and international arbitration courts.

It has been claimed that there are no charges against any Albanian official. In fact, it is proven that Prime Minister Rama and other officials are mentioned in the American documents.

"The content of our request is to verify the implementation of laws by Albanian officials. We have not requested the legality of the actions of American citizens ," Logu said.
