After the protest of business representatives a few days ago, who objected to the establishment of sewage treatment plants based on a VKM, yesterday in the city of Pogradeci, a meeting was held with closed doors for the media to attend there were again business representatives and officials from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy
Deputy Minister Ami Kozeli said at the end of the meeting that a number of the demands of business representatives should be addressed to the government, while he did not give a deadline for solving the problem.
Also for Kozel, the issue of setting the fines that businesses have so far received for not setting up the plant will be addressed in the ministry.
"This was a first hearing as advertised and from the business community. We received their concerns which I believe we will be discussing very soon with our working group, hoping to address them because some of them need to be heard more attention from the government. I am not able to say. The intervention aims to improve the quality of the waters. We tried to explain this as simply as possible to the businesses, which have agreed in advance need for intervention in improvement, however, the most ideal solution must be discussed. We will have a second listening meeting, but we did not leave a fixed date."
While Leonard Bregu, representative of the business, said that for the part of the administrative measures imposed on many subjects, which follow up to 30 million ALL, there will be no suspension of them, where they see the only way to go to court. Even after the meeting, they still did not have a solution offered by the institutions, but he added that the issue will be discussed in the future.
"We expressed our reasons why we should not install this plant due to the appropriate capacity of the city of Pogradec. They listened to us and told us that we will have another meeting. I can't say whether they took it into consideration or not, we They said that we will have the next meeting. They did not give us hope for the fines, they told us that we should go to the Administrative Court."
Ilir Tasellari, another business representative in Pogradec sees the meeting as positive, but says that businesses do not have a deadline for solving their problem.
"For us, it was a positive meeting because we achieved what we asked for, to be heard. The meeting ended with a hearing about the problems that business has. They will give us answers to the problems we raised. The deputy minister and the director of the water supply and sewage system of Albania. The deadline was not passed, but our demands are being considered."
Businesses in Pogradec and Tushemisht oppose the legal act that forces the latter to install waste water processing plants, since according to them they are handled by the city's sewerage network and there are no problems in dealing with the volumes. Meanwhile, inspectors on the ground are continuing to carry out checks and impose fines on entities that have not yet installed the plants./ CNA
