Court case against PL leader/Cakrani: Meta has no connection with the CEZ-DIA

The lawyers of Ilir Meta, leader of the Freedom Party, Kujtim Cakrani and Gylsen Zhllima, have held the next press conference regarding the court process against the former president.

Cakrani stated during his speech that Meta has no connection with the CEZ-DIA contract. Further, the lawyer said that the legal process against citizen Kastriot Ismailaj was also politically motivated, since, according to him, the case should have been won in arbitration.

"Mr. Prifi has deceived the Tirana Prosecution Office and these SPAK have materialized in charges against Meta. CEZ-DIA has started an investigation in 2014 and there is a comprehensive investigation by the Tirana Prosecution Office and there is a criminal conviction. All the persons questioned by the prosecutors of the Tirana Prosecution Office have been summoned and have testified before the Court and before the Special Prosecution Office. The Special Prosecution Office has registered the same criminal proceeding for the same facts and characters. And this is totally prohibited. There is no doubt that the case of Mr. Meta is not only not mentioned by the characters summoned by the Tirana Prosecution Office, but also by the court that sentenced Kastriot Ismailaj. Meta had no connection with the CEZ-DIA contract. Mr. Ismailaj was investigated and convicted by political order because the case should have been won in arbitration ," says Cakrani. /CNA
