Traffic police measures to prevent accidents

Based on the increase in the flow of vehicles, mainly towards coastal, touristic areas and commercial and urban centers, as well as based on the detailed analysis of the causes of road incidents, the Traffic Police throughout the country has taken a series of additional measures, with the aim of increasing road safety parameters.

In all national axes and large urban centers, monitoring has been intensified with intelligent vehicles, automatic radars, cameras and mobile patrols with unregistered vehicles.

During this week, throughout the country, as a result of monitoring, by the services of the Traffic Police, 45 drivers were identified and arrested throughout the country, for driving while intoxicated, without a driving license or under the influence of narcotics. .

109 driving licenses were suspended, mainly for speeding over the permitted rates and for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The Traffic Police of Tirana have dealt with 4 cases of attempts to bribe Traffic Police employees, by vehicle drivers, in order to avoid the administrative measure for the offense committed.

Across the country, a total of 27,377 drivers of vehicles and motor vehicles have been identified and punished with administrative measures, for various violations, including:

1254 vehicle drivers who used mobile phones while driving;

7,845 vehicle drivers who were speeding over the permitted rates, but without the additional measure of driving license suspension;

1516 vehicle drivers, for not wearing a seat belt;

13 543 vehicle drivers, for wrong parking;

351 motor vehicle drivers, for not wearing a protective helmet.

2306 drivers were penalized for wrong registration.

562 for other violations of the Traffic Code.

The police appeal to all road users to strictly follow traffic rules, as all roads are monitored by smart vehicles and mobile patrols of the Road Police.
