Today's protest in front of Tirana City Hall has lasted over 1 hour and a half. Hundreds of citizens appeared determined to remove Erion Veliaj from this institution. 

They called him a thief and corrupt who only knows how to steal.

The protest was peaceful, there were no incidents. Just at one point, the protesters threw garbage bags in the yard of the municipality, as a sign of revolt for the waste that has occupied Tirana in recent weeks. 

In his speech, the political leader of the DP for Tirana, Belind Këlliçi, said that it is a mockery for Albanians that the Office of the EU Delegation in Tirana invites Veliaj to the opening of the College of Europe as a successful man. 

He said that Veliaj is a thief and a fraud and cannot be presented as an example to excellent students. 

Kelliçi also said that they will not give up until they remove Veliaj and the latter faces justice for the scandals and affairs in the municipality. 

While the member of the Presidency, Grigels Muçollari said that Tirana is the capital of waste and that we can only save the country with protests. 

In the same line was Dorian Teliti, who emphasized that the two buildings that need to be emptied urgently by popular revolts are the Prime Minister's building and the one of Tirana Municipality, as the citizens are being robbed. 

The protesters expressed their determination that the protests will continue until the departure of Veliaj from this institution. /CNA
