After the holidays were cancelled, police officers will work extended hours

Today, at the government meeting, it was decided that during this tourist season, police officers, by order of the head of the State Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, will work extended hours.

The decision states that the hours of service of the police officers will be extended by 4 hours for each shift for the period from June 16 to September 15.

For this service, employees will be compensated with a salary and the payment is made together with the monthly salary of the month when the service was performed.

These additions come after the decision to cancel the summer holidays for police officers.

"DECISION ON SOME ADDITIONS TO DECISION NO. 101, DATED 15.2.2017 OF THE COUNCIL OF MINISTERS, 'ON WORKING AND REST TIME IN THE STATE POLICE'

In support of Article 100 of the Constitution, Article 63 of Law No. 108/2014, 'On the State Police', as amended, and Articles 76-108 of Law No. 7961, dated 12.7.1995, 'Code of the Republic of Albania', amended, with the proposal of the Minister of the Interior, the Council of Ministers

DECIDE:

1. In Chapter I, of decision no. 101, dated 15.2.2017, of the Council of Ministers, 'On working and rest time in the State Police', the following additions are made:

a) After point 12, points 12/1 and 12/2 are added, with the following content:

'12/1. The activation of police officers at work/service with an extension of normal work/service time, 4 (four) hours for each shift/service, is done by order of the Director General of the State Police and is carried out during the summer tourist season, for the period from June 16 to September 15.

12/2. The extension of normal working/service time, 4 (four) hours for each shift/service, during the summer tourist season, for the period from June 16 to September 15, is compensated with salary and the payment is made together with the monthly salary of the month when the service is done'.

b) In point 13, after the words '... over normal working hours...', add '... and extension of normal working/service hours...'

2. The financial effects, resulting from the implementation of this decision, are borne by the state budget for the "State Police" budget program.

3. The Ministry of the Interior and the State Police are charged with the implementation of this decision.

This decision enters into force after publication in the 'Official Gazette'", the announcement states.
