The Parliament rejected the Investigative Commissions proposed by the
Deputy of the Socialist Party, Klotida Bushka

The deputy of the Socialist Party, Klotida Bushka, spoke about the rejection by the parliament of the establishment of the Investigative Commissions proposed by the opposition.

Bushka said that the opposition's right to request an investigative commission is a constitutional right, but it is not unlimited.

In an interview, she stated that the proposal must be within the constitutional limits, must be for a certain issue, must respect some principles of separation and balancing of powers, and must be according to some criteria.

"If you think that parliamentary control is done only with Investigative Commissions, this is not correct. In all the committees of the Assembly, according to their area of ??responsibility, they all carry out parliamentary control, of government initiatives, of the ways in which those initiatives are implemented, of independent institutions, we have post-legislative control, we have direct monitoring in institutions, with questions addressed to the institutions, with analysis of the relevant annual report of this institution. We receive annual reports from the institutions, for those who have a duty in the law, they send them themselves within a deadline. We have the right to request those reports. Problems emerge from the reports, which are also understood from the causes, the causes come from the lack of proper implementation, the causes come from the lack of legislation, all of these can be filled with additional questions, with hearings in the commission.

The opposition, not only in Albania, which we have provided for in the constitution and the law, the whole range of parliamentary mechanisms of parliamentary control, does not only have the Investigative Commissions. As for Commissions of Inquiry, we have received several Commissions of Inquiry. Politically, this majority has accepted a right to the opposition to set up investigative commissions in the future. The right of the opposition to request a Commission of Inquiry is a constitutional right, but it is not unlimited. It must be within the constitutional limits, it must be for a certain issue, it must respect some principles of separation and balancing of powers, and it must be according to some criteria", said Klotida Bushka .
