4 churches and monasteries in Voskopoja and Vithkuq are restored

The head of the Korça municipality, Sotiraq Filo, has informed that 4 churches and monasteries in Voskopoja and Vithkuq have been restored.

It is about the church of "Saint Mary", "Saint Mhill" and the monastery of "Saint Prodhrom" and "Saint Peter".

Churches and monasteries have been subjected to a complete restoration because as a result of the long construction time and atmospheric factors they were damaged and required restoration interventions.

In addition to interventions in the structure, Filo adds that a special attention will be paid to the restoration of wall paintings, which have suffered damage.

Voskopoja and Vithkuqi are among the most beautiful tourist villages in Korça, with a rare cultural wealth, which is also evidenced by the churches, special monuments with architectural and artistic values./ CNA
