The Director General of the Police, Muhamet Rrumbullaku, held a very important meeting with the US Assistant Secretary of State, Ambassador Todd Robinson, who also heads the International Office on Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL).

At the beginning of the meeting, Robinson expressed that he felt happy to receive a reliable partner from the Albanian law enforcement institutions, with whom they have the same interests and share the same goals, including the integration of Albania into the EU.

Rrumbullaku informed the American official about the developments of recent years, the results of reforms, both in justice and in other law enforcement agencies, such as the State Police.

"The successful operations of the State Police, carried out in cooperation and with the support of SPAK and the Prosecutor General's Office, have made it possible to attack the criminal groups of trafficking and distribution of narcotics, in a consistent manner, with zero tolerance towards any criminal activity that takes place, whether in Albania or outside its borders", said the director of the State Police.

Also, he stopped at Iran's cyber attack on Albania.

"After the cyber attack of September 2022, all State Police systems have already been restored and are operating at full capacity," he said.

The General Director emphasized that the fight against corruption at all levels of the administration, including cleaning the ranks of the Police, from compromised officers, is an equally important priority. Here he underlined the very good cooperation with SPAK, stating that several cases of corruption are already under investigation, which are expected to be finalized in the near future.
