Domestic violence, problem in the southeast, dozens arrested in recent months

Domestic violence remains one of the biggest problems in the southeastern region.

Recently, a 36-year-old man was arrested in Devoll, after he abused his wife in the presence of the children. The denunciation was made yesterday, while he was arrested late in the evening by the Devolli police station.

As for this problem, in the municipality of Devolli, based on statistics, about 12 cases of violence have been found for a period of time of the last 3 months, where protection orders have been issued to those abused by their spouses.

City News Albania has also provided statistics in the district, where more specifically, in the last 9 months, 35 citizens have been arrested, 2 detained, 61 others at large and 5 wanted. /CNA
