From South to North/ The government announces protected landscapes in 10 areas

The Council of Ministers has today made the decision to declare 10 areas in our country as protected landscapes.

List of 10 countries that have entered the 'Protected Aquatic/Terrestrial Landscape' category:

1. Protected water/terrestrial landscape "Bisht-Kamze" area is announced

2. Protected landscape "Bjeshket e Oroshi" is announced

3. Proclaimed protected landscape "Kuturman - Qafë-Bushi"

4. Protected water/terrestrial landscape "Rrushkull" area is announced

5. Proclaimed protected landscape area "Bredhi i Drenova - Sinica"

6. Proclaim protected water/terrestrial landscape Buna river, Velipoja

7. Proclaimed protected landscape "Stone of Nika - Valamare - Lenie"

8. Proclaimed protected landscape 'Krastë - Verjon'

9. Protected water/terrestrial landscape 'Pogradec Lake' is announced

10. Protected water/terrestrial landscape 'Pishë Poro-Nartë' is announced

Among the activities allowed in the protected water/terrestrial landscape are research-scientific ones, for the purpose of environmental education, activities for the purpose of monitoring the state of the environment, of the ecosystem, of habitats and of floristic and faunal species; any activity related to the necessary or urgent interventions for the improvement of biodiversity, regeneration, or any other activity for this purpose, activities developed in structures friendly to biodiversity and the environment, or activities developed in structures accommodating tourism/agritourism and any other supporting activity/infrastructure.

Meanwhile, prohibited activities in the protected aquatic/terrestrial landscape are those that deteriorate, destroy and/or lead to the loss of natural habitats, such as the cultivation and breeding of invasive and non-endemic species, which may damage the existing chain of the world of living of the protected area, fragmentation of habitats, collection of wild animals, hunting, as well as the planting of monoculture species./ CNA
