In 2017, the head of the World Supreme Court, Baba Mondi, addressed a letter to the Assembly, the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. for the creation of the Bektashi state.

In the letter, the head of the World Archdiocese complains that "the Bektashis and various religious communities everywhere in the world already recognize Albania as the place where the Holy See of the World Archdiocese is located, a recognition which, compared in canonical terms, is equivalent to the recognition that the Catholic world and the non-Catholic ones do to the Vatican.

Father Mondi reasons that the spiritual leader of the Catholic world enjoys a special status worldwide, only on the basis of an agreement concluded between the Holy See and the Italian state in February 1929, which was ratified by the Italian Senate on 06.07.1929.

Baba Mondi in 2017 considered it a miracle that the Bektashis had the opportunity to be recognized as a state in the canonical world, and this may happen in the future when this community has both the financial and political opportunities to achieve recognition as a such in the international arena.

The protection consists in granting the status of the Holy See of the Bektashians to a status at least equivalent to the Apostolic Nunciature in Tirana

In order to enable the Bektashi faith to come to life as a religious sect which has mostly served the peace of all Albanians inside and outside the borders, as well as softening the harsh tones of Muslim radicalism and bringing believers closer to themselves in different countries of the world, we think that it is the obligation of the Albanian state to offer this sect a special protection first within the country. The protection consists in granting the status of the Holy See of the Bektashians to a status equivalent to at least the Apostolic Nunciature in Tirana which is the representative of the Vatican in the RS.

The acceptance of this proposal for the recognition of a status equivalent to that of the diplomatic mission for the Headquarters of the World Supreme Court of the Bektashis would place the Bektashi religious faith in equal positions with the Catholic one. Both faiths, the Catholic and the Bektashi, recognize the status of their leader. spiritual as well as the status of the Holy See. Consequently, their equalization in terms of immunities and privileges that they enjoy at least in the Republic of Albania would be an equalization of the spiritual rights of Albanians of the Bektashi faith. This proposal is in full compliance with the Constitution of Albania as well as with the right that the Albanian state and the Albanian government have to give a special status to an organization that has international status. As mentioned above, the international status of the Bektashi has already been confirmed.

We have been accepted and recognized as a religious sect in many countries of the world, including the USA.

The cases of recognition of this type of status in the world for religious sects are numerous, it is enough to mention the Sovereign Order of Malta to which the Albanian state has granted a special status in the RSH.

With reference to the above and the special agreement concluded between the parties and ratified in the parliament by law 10058/2009, the World Bektashi Church remains open for the start of negotiations for the drafting of a joint agreement for the recognition of the status equivalent to that of a diplomatic mission for the Holy See of this archdiocese./ CNA
