SPAK mega-operation/ The criminal group is hit, 360 kg of drugs are seized

The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, today on 25.09.2024, in cooperation with Eurojust, Europol, the Italian, Swiss, Polish authorities, the National Bureau of Investigation and the General Directorate of the State Police, has carried out a joint operation in within the framework of investigations for the criminal offenses "Trafficking of narcotics", "Cleaning of the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity" and "Fraud in investments in large sums".

The investigation has resulted in the existence of a structured criminal group, which carried out the criminal activity of trafficking narcotics of the cocaine type from Latin American countries towards the countries of the European Union, mainly Italy.

This criminal group carried out criminal activity in Italy, Albania, Poland and Switzerland.

The suspects laundered their ill-gotten gains through a countless network of companies, run by an Italian-Chinese organization set up for this purpose, which supplied false invoices for around 375 million Euros.

As a result of the investigation, 360 kg of narcotics of the cocaine type, weapons and other valuable items, estimated at the value of 60 million Euro cash, were seized.

Today, on 25.09.2024, in the Republic of Albania, 21 inspections of homes and other premises were carried out. Two members of the criminal group, citizens with the initials JK and AM, were arrested in the act. Also, 30,000 Euros, 6,000 Paud, 2 vehicles, 1 gun, 4 Rolex watches, 26 mobile devices, documents, were seized as material evidence. other valuable items, as well as other material evidence./ CNA
