The Venice Commission accepts the request of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania, forwarded by the Speaker of the Assembly, Elisa Spiropali to the President of the Venice Commission, Claire Bazy Malaurie, through which an opinion is requested regarding the relationship between representative parliamentary democracy and the obligation to implement decisions of the Constitutional Court. In her response, the President of the Venice Commission informs that this matter has been decided for consideration at the meeting of the Commission on December 6-7, 2024.

"Dear President, Thank you for your letter dated September 13, 2024, by which you request the opinion of the Venice Commission on the relationship between representative parliamentary democracy and the binding decisions of the Constitutional Court, in the context of the role of the Assembly in considering motions for the incompatibility of the deputy's mandate. Through this letter I confirm the readiness of the Venice Commission to prepare this opinion for approval at the 141st plenary session (December 6-7, 2024).
