The changes in the Road Code are not related to the tragic accident at the TEG overpass where three victims remained.

This is what the director of DPSHTRR, Blendi Gonxhja, said. He emphasized that these changes were planned since July last year.

In an interview in "Euronews Albania", Gonxhja said that the accident was a very serious case and is a challenge for the state and society.

 " We have been discussing the changes to the Highway Code since July 2022. It has been a concern and these have always been under approval. The moment found us that coincided with a date, but were not made for this occasion.

This case is very serious and we are analyzing everything further, from the point of view of the tests and also from the point of view of the different dynamics that could be going on with these young people. That started a challenge of these young people on Tik Tok, against the law and rules.

A real challenge to the state, to society. Many of these blackmailers started doing it on purpose afterwards. It was a counter-reaction to the perception and the first reaction we had ," said Blendi Gonxhja./ CNA.al
