Krenar Lilaj, head of the Anesthesia-Reanimation Service at the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center, spoke in a statement to the media regarding the power outage. Lilaj stated that the treatment of patients continued normally.

He further added that at the time of the power outage, to avoid the malfunction of some respiratory machines, the patients were transferred to the adjacent hospital. During the transport, according to the doctor, a portable respirator was used.

"The treatment of the sick continued normally. Not only the treatment of respiratory assistance, but also the ongoing treatment since these sick people receive their medication through devices that are 'backed up'. There was talk of a serious defect and the time of restoration of power was unconfirmed. Under these conditions, in order to avoid the simultaneous malfunction of several respiratory devices, we decided to transfer the patients to the ward of the adjacent hospital, i.e. 20 meters away, ensuring treatment under the new conditions. We decided to transfer 10 sick people, of whom 9 were on a ventilator. A portable ventilator was used during the transport ," said Lilaj. /CNA
