Diplomat and publicist Shaban Murati passes away

The renowned Albanian diplomat and publicist, Shaban Murati, passed away today at the age of 79.

Murat was a prominent figure in Albanian diplomacy and journalism, with a significant contribution to the development of the country's foreign policy.

Born on September 2, 1945, Shaban Murati was a prominent figure in Albanian diplomacy and journalism. During his long career, he served as Albania's ambassador to North Macedonia, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland.

Murati was also the head of the Diplomatic Academy of the Republic of Albania, playing a key role in the formation of new generations of Albanian diplomats. 

In addition to his diplomatic engagements, Murat was a well-known author, publishing a number of books and analyses on Balkan affairs, diplomacy, and international relations.

Among his most prominent works are "Serbia against Serbia: Analysis of a Half-Revolution Left Halfway" (2004), "Diplomatic Enigmas of Kosovo's Independence: Leaves from an Ambassador's Diary" (2007), and "The Diplomatic Suicide of Albania and Kosovo" (2021). /CNA
